PFL Trade Notice: Australia to Pacific Islands – General Rate Increase (GRI)

Dear Valued Customers,

To maintain our regular shipping services to and from Pacific Islands, freight rates will increase from the 16th of March 2022.

The increase will be applied on top of current freight rates at the following amount and will be applied to cargo from Australia to the following Pacific Islands - Fiji, Samoa, American Samoa, Tonga, and Cook Islands.

• $300 USD / 20’ container
• $600 USD / 40’ container

PFL Trade Notice: Dangerous Goods Surcharge Increase

Dear Valued Customers,

Further to our announcement on 30 December regarding DG Surcharge amendments, Pacific Forum Line will streamline these charges across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. PFL have also introduced a DG FAK surcharge for our LCL shippers and consolidators.
As per previous notification, New Zealand DG changes are effective from 1 March. Pacific Island changes will take effect from 15 March.

PFL have also reviewed our Australia DG Surcharges, as below. Australia changes will take effect from 15 March.

Due to risks associated with below commodities, the following DG classes will continue to be prohibited.

According to the market situation, we will be adjusting our LSS surcharge on the Australia lane from March 8th, 2022, details are as follows:

LSS – Low Sulphur Surcharge

Effective from March 8th, 2022 (ETD Port of Loading)

Sinotrans Container Lines reserves the right to review the Low Sulphur surcharge should the fuel price increase or decrease by 10% during above period and will provide 30 days notice if any adjustment is required.

PFL Trade Notice: PFL Network Enhancements

Dear Valued Customers,

Further to our Network update of 24th December, Pacific Forum Line is very pleased to advise we have been able to bring forward some of the enhancements planned for the second quarter. Please note details below that are reflected in this week’s schedule:

• New Zealand to Samoa and American Samoa Service – From the Southern Moana v44 estimated to depart Auckland on the 5th February we will commence a direct and dedicated service to Samoa and American Samoa from Auckland increasing capacity & service frequency.

• New Zealand to Tonga and Tahiti Service – The Capitaine Dampier will commence her deployment in this service from voyage 184 estimated to depart Auckland on the 8th February. The Capitaine Dampier will deliver increased capacity to both the Tahiti and Tonga markets.

• Fiji Services – From the Capitaine Wallis v384 & the Southern Pearl v1491 both vessels will return to their regular rotations.
These service enhancements will align network capacity with demand and enhance connections to and from the pacific nations we serve. Whilst we expect congestion, disruption, and overall supply chain challenges to remain prevalent through 2022. Our commitment to our pacific communities remains steadfast and we thank you for your ongoing support.

PFL Trade Notice: Tonga Update

Dear Valued Customers,

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the good people of Tonga – friends and colleagues alike.

Presently Pacific Forum Line are going through the following actions:

• We have established that our agency personal are safe and well and working on establishing communications
• The port is closed until it can be surveyed to ascertain any damage. We expect that to happen today or tomorrow (Thursday)
• Our container depot (CRS) was inundated, and the clean-up has begun to make it operational. We understand no major damage to machinery
• We are reviewing schedules and will work with government to assist on vessel plans to supply goods
• Our management & trade teams are reviewing what is the most urgent aid cargo, how quickly we can deliver Tonga and what we are going to require from shippers and consignee to ensure cargo is direct exactly where the relief is required

Once above is established we will then be working with all cargo interests to ensure requirements are evaluated and planned accordingly.

PFL Trade Notice: Low Sulphur Fuel Surcharge Effective 1st of January 2022

Dear Valued Customers,

Pacific Forum Line (PFL) wishes to advise that following monitoring of Low Sulphur Fuel (LSFO) price, for the last month, effective 1st of January 2022 an updated Low Sulphur Fuel Surcharge will be applicable on all shipments.

• Australia to / from South Pacific will be USD $228 / TEU
• New Zealand to / from South Pacific Islands will be USD $156 / TEU
• Inter-Island will be USD $315 / TEU

Notes:
• Reefers: to be applied USD342 per TEU
• PFL reserves the right to review the LSFO surcharge monthly, following market bunker price fluctuations
• LSFO for Asia/Europe/Africa/Americas to & from the Pacific Islands and NZ to Cook Island trade is communicated separately
